Program Overview

Eagle Christian Ministries is a faith based men’s recovery and discipleship program and a women’s discipleship program and group home.  An applicant must go through an initial entry interview and be approved by administration before entering the program.

Our men’s program is a one year residential program with a minimum commitment of 90 days.  Residential services for both programs include assessment and evaluation, individual spiritual development, individual and group Bible study, Christian family living principles and work training, while the men’s recovery program includes alcohol, drug, and addiction rehabilitation. We also provide the facilities and opportunities for access to personal counselors, therapists, and physicians.

The first 30 days of the men’s program is considered a lock down period and the men are confined to the premises for class and work duty and only allowed off campus for supervised group activities. Once a male resident has successfully completed their 30 day probationary period they are then allowed to work at off campus locations with supervision for 3-4 hours a day and are allowed approved visitation and limited phone privileges. If the male resident successfully graduates from the 90 day residential program they may qualify to move to a transition home. They may then stay at the transition home for up to 1 year. While at the transition home the male residents must adhere to strict curfew and other house rules as well as attend several 12 Step meetings per week, church, and hold down a full-time job.

12-Step Curriculum

While in the program men typically attend Celebrate Recovery meetings. Celebrate Recovery is a faith based 12 step program. During a CR meeting participants attend a group meeting where testimonies are given or lessons are presented. After the group meeting participants divide up into small groups specifically geared to their addiction or life skills behavior problem. These small group sharing sessions are lead by trained facilitators. In addition to the CR meetings residents complete an individual 12 step program entitled “Admitting Needs, A 12 Step Study”, penned and facilitated on Tuesdays and Thursdays by Dr. David Lowry, Dean of Arts & Sciences at Oklahoma Christian University. Each day residents complete a daily assignments and then during meetings they discuss as a group their responses and progress.

Life Skills Classes

Residents are required to attend life skills classes each week. These include courses such as: Financial Peace, Boundaries, Family/Parenting and Handling Confrontation and Conflict. Group Counseling Residents attend group counseling and Drug and Substance Abuse Education classes each week. These sessions are facilitated by Jack Dolittle, a licensed alcohol and drug abuse counselor. Mr. Dolittle is a state drug court assessor and co-authored the state approved curriculum for the Mabel Bassett State Correctional Facility. The residents also attend group counseling while meeting at Eagle Outreach, Eagle Christian Ministries’ Recovery Outreach Program. The sessions are designed and facilitated by individuals trained in the field of psychology to assist men and women in need of addiction/recovery treatment in finding help with their struggles.

Individual Counseling Sessions

While at Eagle Christian Ministries the men and women can expect to meet one-on-one once a week with our Director, a licensed minister, for ministerial guidance sessions. As is to be expected residents are provided the opportunity to meet individually with their personal ministerial counselors at the facility or may meet with their own L.P.C. off campus if necessary.  After the first 30 days of the program family members are encouraged to attend weekly outreach meetings that are held at Eagle Outreach, a nearby neutral location. There they have the opportunity to interact with the resident and also attend small group sharing sessions with other families.

Drug Testing

Residents are subject to random drug testing at any time or may be required by the court or probation officer to take scheduled drug tests. Residents are also assisted in meeting with parole officers and in making required court appearances.
